Class Descriptions

Vinyasa

A deep, active style of yoga in which poses generally flow together for a faster-paced and challenging yoga experience.  Levels of difficulty vary from day-to-day depending on the wants and needs of the individual students attending.  Inversions and advanced postures are often practiced, but never required.  Some previous experience with yoga is helpful but first time yogis are welcome!

Ashtanga

Ashtanga yoga is a deep, powerful, and athletic yoga class which challenges strength as well as flexibility.  A vigorous, challenging, and deeply rewarding yoga experience, Catherine guides Ashtanga student though the sun salutations, standing sequence, primary series, and finishing sequence of Ashtanga yoga.

Gentle Vinyasa

A calming and peaceful class which gently stretches the body and relaxes the mind.  Great for beginning students, those with physical limitations, or anyone wishing to increase relaxation and reduce stress in their lives.

Family Yoga

Can't find a babysitter?  Family Yoga is a perfect opportunity to bring your kids to yoga class.  A fun and playful class in which family members and their children practice yoga together side-by-side.  A bonding experience, a great work out, and a good time.  Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nannies, caretakers and kids of all ages are welcome!

Yoga Mala

A Yoga Mala is a traditional practice of 108 sun salutations.  Different variations of the classical sun salutation will be employed to keep the class exciting, varied, and challenging.  All levels of experience and ability are welcome as students are invited to practice at their own pace and ability.  Modifications are offered and encouraged to make your yoga experience unique, personal, and safe.

Private Sessions

Each of these one-on-one yoga therapy sessions is tailor-made to work with your body and your needs in order to help you achieve your physical, mental, and spiritual goals.  Classes held in the comfort of your own home allow you to control the atmosphere of your yoga experience, or, if you prefer, the class can be held at taraNa's beautiful practice space.  These private sessions are a great way to deepen your practice, and also make an excellent gift!

Corporate Classes

Bring your yoga practice to work with you!  Help improve the health, happiness, concentration, and positive energy in your work environment through these at-work yoga classes.  Available early morning, lunchtime, or after work.  Clients have included: Abbott Northwestern Hospital (Mpls), Matrix Associates (Mpls), Sonday Reading Center (Edina), Boston Health Care Group (St. Paul), Jefferson Elementary School (Mpls), and Definity Health (St. Louis Park).
